Last Friday P5 were allowed ‘free choice’ in a maths activity that they had taken part in the week before.
Pupils could choose between a maths board game, one of Mrs Laird’s special card games, a worksheet, or a SmartPals active maths activity in pairs.

Jacob and Deklan model one of many mental maths card games that the children learn each week.

No surprise that Education City was the most popular activity….!

This board game requires the children to practice thinking skills by ‘remembering’ the objects on their ‘shopping list’.

In Education City, pupils can play against each other in real-time. This encourages friendly competition and interaction between children.
