The latest update from the Junior Journalist competition –
Good Morning Everyone!
The countdown has begun to the Closing Date . . . only 5 schools days left! The closing date for entries is Monday, 3 April, 2017!
HOWEVER, as there were a few initial issues experienced by some schools at the start of the project which were not of their doing, we have agreed to extend the deadline for entries for an extra week following the Easter break! This means your entries have to be with The Press and Journal by Monday 24 April!
We were delighted to receive some more pictures from schools taking part in the project and would love to receive more. There is now a £25 prize for the best class activity/idea for using news in the classroom.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Once the project has officially closed, the entries will be gathered by The Press and Journal for judging by the editor and his staff. As soon as the winners are chosen, the schools will be informed and arrangements made for them to receive their prize(s) and appear in the paper.
This will all be done in plenty of time for the winning teacher to use the prize money to book their summer holiday . . . and they will deserve it!
We here at The NEWS Foundation will continue to stay in touch and ensure you know when the next project from The Press and Journal is about to take place. In the meantime, we would love to receive any feedback on the project you would care to share and to help us improve our offerings to schools.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you all, once again, for taking part.
